This week in support of the Ministry Anti-Violence Week, staff and students at Harrow Senior will be encouraged to perform Random Acts of Kindness in and around the school and community.  Students will be encouraged to leave their cards and short note with the people whom they perform the act for, encouraging others to become involved in this school wide initiative established by the Windsor Essex Community Foundation.  Other activities taking place this week include the grade 7 students joining others from across the board in viewing the play ‘My Daughter Veera.’  In addition on Friday, November 19th, staff and students will be encouraged to participate in a Pink Shirt Day to show our support of the anti-violence message being delivered at Harrow Senior.

Some things never change, including the November round of Parent-Teacher Interviews.  Although the Ministry has developed a new Reporting Policy called Growing Success, communication between home and school continues to be an important part in student success at all levels of education.  We hosted our parents last week on Thursday, November 11th from 4:00 to 7:00 to discuss the progress of our students.  It was another successful night with a good turn out.  Unlike in past years we were unable to accommodate interviews on Friday morning as a result of a Provincial PD day for staff.  If you were unable to attend on Thursday and would like to meet with your childs teacher please feel free to contact the school and schedule an appointment in the next couple of weeks.

Remembrance Day

Another thought felt assembly took place at Harrow Senior on November 11th with all students participating.  Under the direction of Mrs. Collier all grades sang songs that represented our thoughts and feelings towards the many veterans who fought for our freedom.  In addition the Grade 7 and 8 students participated in the annual Legion Parade.  Congratulations to the entire Harrow Senior Learning Community for their thoughtful presentations and representation on this special day.
